6. Conclusion

It's fair to say that the subject of steel-concrete composite frames remains an open field, insofar as a number of shortcomings have been noted in the specifications of the EN 1994-1-1 and the associated French National Annex. These shortcomings are bound to cause problems for project designers.

In this article, we have therefore not hesitated to provide additional information that may be useful to calculators, without claiming to be exhaustive.

As a matter of priority, we can only encourage calculators to take full advantage of the field - perfectly mastered in the literature - of braced mixed frames, whether they are semi-continuous and treated by global quasi-plastic analysis, or continuous and treated by global elastic analysis, supplemented by a moment redistribution...
