In this period of paradigm shifts, the architect is no spectator.

Despite all the criticism heard or read in the various specialized blogs, if the promoters of BIM are essentially the big groups interested in "big business as usual", the fact remains that this BIM process is inescapable. Architects have become aware of this evolution, but they still have to react and take the lead, to avoid being relegated to the position of art director.

Since the first version of this article, there has been a noticeable evolution among architects, but a major problem remains, that of digital continuity between all the players in the building industry.
