1. Definition, selection criteria and regulations

First of all, it should be remembered that trays suspended by ropes and mittens do not meet the requirements of article R. 4324-29 (ex R. 233-33), which stipulates:

Work equipment used for lifting and moving workers is selected or equipped to :

1. avoid the risk of falling from the passenger compartment, where this exists, by means of appropriate devices;

2. avoid the risk of the user falling out of the passenger compartment, where this exists ;

3. avoid the risk of crushing, trapping or striking the user;

4. guarantee the safety of workers trapped in the cab in the event of an accident, and enable them to be freed.
