1. General installation rules

The types of tile covered by this document are defined, illustrated and characterized in paragraph 1 of the fascicule [C 3 520] .

Flat clay tile roofs are designed to be installed on supporting frameworks established in compliance with the rules and standards in force for such frameworks. In particular, the supports (usually rafters) for the battens must be flat enough. The flatness defect measured between three adjacent rafters must be, in line with the intermediate rafter, a maximum of 1/100 of the span between the end rafters.
