8. Normative approach

The reference texts are set out in European standard NF EN 806, which specifies the requirements and provides recommendations for the design, sizing and installation of drinking water systems inside buildings and pipes outside buildings, within property limits. They apply to new installations, modifications and repairs. For example, NF EN 806 – 1 er June 2001 Technical specifications for water installations for human consumption inside buildings - Part 1: General.

This standard is complemented by NF EN 12056 on gravity drainage systems inside buildings for wastewater and rainwater.
