4. Conclusion
In this second article devoted to electromagnetic actuators, we set out to explain the influence of classification criteria on actuator performance.
Given the number of possible topologies and specifications, it is impossible to consider all cases. We have therefore limited ourselves to a qualitative comparison.
The laws of similitude, showing the evolution of the various quantities as a function of actuator size, have enabled us to compare the main families of electromagnetic actuators. The influence of the coupling (polar or tooth coupling) and the nature of the excitation are very important on the mass torque.
Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of each classification criterion were presented. Depending on the requirements, one topology or another will be preferred.
