Umit Bilge DEMIRCI holds a PhD in physical chemistry and is a contract researcher at the Laboratoire des Matériaux Surfaces et Procédés pour la Catalyse (LMSPC) at CNRS. He works on the development of catalysts and electrocatalysts (pollution control, automotive, liquid fuel cells, hydrogen).
Hydrogen is an abundant, clean source of energy. This gaseous, non-toxic fuel is highly energetic. Hydrogen has the highest mass energy density of all common fuels, at 120 MJ/kg, compared with 50 MJ/kg for natural gas and 45 MJ/kg for gasoline.
