4. Conclusion

In conclusion, we can't help but look back at the tremendous advances made in insulation system design.

Traditional materials still have a good share of the market, and there's no need to pit innovation against tradition.

Materials drive innovation: yesterday's impossible is tomorrow's possible.

The current situation calls for trade-offs (performance, cost, environment, safety). These are made more delicate by the emergence of new constraints and the acquisition of greater know-how.

The future will see more sophisticated or better-controlled materials thanks to the use of new techniques offering promising avenues for the future:

  • tools such as molecular modeling calculations to simulate certain evolutionary characteristics of materials;...
