3. Stress resistance evaluation

3.1 General principles

To assess the stress resistance of insulation systems, it is necessary to carry out tests in order to :

  • validate the choice of materials at the design stage;

  • assess operating limits;

  • validate safety aspects in normal and accidental operation;

  • a method for controlling the insulation system;

  • predict long-term behavior;

  • assess environmental impacts from design to end-of-life.
