6. Conclusion

In this article, EMI filtering is presented from its primary function of attenuating common-mode noise, through differential-mode noise and filter structures, to its complete modeling. EMI filters are essential in most electronic/electrical equipment to comply with electromagnetic compatibility standards, particularly for conducted emissions. To correctly size a filter and predict its attenuation, it is essential to consider the complete models of the components, with their parasitic elements, but also to know the environment in which it will be integrated (impedances seen by the filter, influence of temperature). In addition, it is essential to take into account coupling between components, due to their proximity, which has a strong impact on the final attenuation of a filter.
