electromagnetic compatibility; compatibilité électromagnétique

Ability of a device, apparatus or system to operate satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without itself producing electromagnetic disturbances likely to cause serious disturbance to the operation of apparatus or systems in its environment.

differential mode; mode différentiel

Also known as normal mode: noise in the differential world comes from power supplies or switching cells. This noise propagates in opposite directions for the same pair.

mode commun; common mode

Also known as parallel mode: common-mode noise arises from parasitic capacitances between the equipment and its reference. This common-mode noise propagates in the same direction in the same pair, and loops back through the reference....
