The sizing of a permanent magnet circuit follows certain rules that meet one or more objectives.
One of the most common objectives is price. The aim is to get the best possible magnetic circuit performance at the lowest possible price.
4.1 Sizing target
In a fairly simplistic approach, the dimensioning of a permanent magnet circuit is to produce a given induction B in a given air gap. However, it is necessary to add an additional constraint, which is the cost of the circuit. The simplistic approach can therefore no longer be considered on its own.
