5.1 Ductile alloys
The main drawbacks of magnet materials are that they are brittle, hard and breakable. There are a number of alloys whose magnetic properties are those of hard magnetic materials, and which have the advantage of being ductile. They are therefore easily machined, rolled or drawn.
