Increasingly demanding specifications in power electronics require converters to be increasingly compact, while guaranteeing high efficiency and environmental compatibility. To achieve these objectives, two avenues can be explored: the use of high switching frequencies to reduce volume and mass, and/or the implementation of new interleaved structures. The first important and widely explored parameter is the switching frequency. Higher frequencies reduce the volume and mass of passive components; however, higher frequencies lead to higher losses in all components: iron and copper losses in magnetic components, and switching losses in semiconductors. Moreover, this rise in frequency has its limits in differential-mode filtering, given the harmonics that are constrained by EMC templates
