High-frequency or microwave dielectric heating is used to manufacture a wide range of products in many industrial sectors. However, the penetration of these techniques is hampered by high investment costs.

Implementing dielectric heating in a process is never simple. It requires a global approach, including a wide range of technical and economic aspects. For example, energy costs, the quality of the product produced, and the floor space required for the production unit all need to be taken into account. The service rendered must also be taken into account; this is sometimes very important, or even impossible, to obtain with other techniques.
