7. Conclusion
Thanks to a well-designed network, updated over the 15 years of operation, redundant power supply circuits and careful equipment maintenance, the current failure rate of the electrical system is very low (failure leading to stoppage or delay of transport missions). These provisions proved particularly effective during the tunnel fire a few years ago, and even more so during the fire of September 11, 2008, when service outside the interval to be repaired (Interval 6) was able to be carried out with a unilateral supply from France, thanks to concentric feeders located safely in the service tunnel.
Similarly, at the end of 2009, during Eurostar incidents, there was no time when the 25 kV supply was interrupted.
