6. Maintenance and quality

The organization of power system maintenance is designed to guarantee the satisfactory operation of equipment to ensure optimum availability at the lowest possible cost.

  • The general maintenance policy is based on the following rules:

    • prioritize preventive maintenance to optimize equipment availability by reducing equipment failures;

    • give priority to standard exchanges of assemblies or subassemblies to reduce on-site intervention times and cause minimum disruption to rail operations;

    • develop condition-based maintenance to detect equipment deterioration at an early stage and intervene effectively, while extending equipment life;

    • group technical systems into homogeneous, clearly defined and easy-to-manage...
