5. Conclusion

Electricity has become an indispensable "product" in today's world, and the very idea of its disappearance seems unthinkable. To supply the end consumer, who is increasingly demanding in terms of product reliability and availability, we need a powerful and complex generation – transport – distribution system.

However, we mustn't forget that, in order to finance it, we need to invoice the product it delivers - electricity - under the best possible conditions. Metering and the ensuing invoicing are therefore very important and indispensable elements of this system. Metering is nothing other than the "cash drawer" of electricity companies. The proof of this importance lies in the fact that electricity pricing is systematically handled by the states themselves, a situation that continues to some extent even with deregulation.
