8. Generator monitoring

The widespread use of computerized control systems has led to the development of concepts for the supervision, remote management and remote maintenance of generating sets and power plants.

  • Supervision involves collecting information on the operation of the group, formatting and interpreting it, and displaying it on a computer screen in various forms: animated operating diagrams, bar graphs, tables of current values, etc.

  • In the remote management application, this information is transmitted remotely over the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) via a modem.
