5. Conclusion

High-voltage installations have evolved in response to changing needs, technologies and operator protection regulations. As the latest edition of standard NF C 13-100 included provisions for the use of equipment that had disappeared since the 1970s, a major effort was required to update the standard.

A new approach to NF C 13-200, making it easier to read, has led to the revision of NF C 13-100. The two standards are written with a common layout, making it easier for designers and inspectors to find the rules.

The former NF C 13-100 standard was accompanied by three standards relating to semi-underground prefabricated substations, prefabricated substations and pole-mounted substations. These three standards have now been integrated.
