3. Effects of electric current on the human body
3.1 Pathophysiological effects
The pathophysiological effects of electric current have been the subject of numerous studies and experiments carried out on animals, cadavers and even living people. The results of these studies enabled an international group of medical, physiological and safety experts to draw up a report defining these effects (publication of UTE C15-110, UTE C15-111, UTE C15-112). In fact, this report defines :
the effect on the human body, depending on the intensity and duration of the current flowing through it;
electrical impedances of the human body as a function of contact voltage.
