9. Conclusion
Electrical installations in industry and the service sector are subject to faults (such as short-circuits) which can jeopardize the safety of people and equipment. These faults are rapidly detected by protective devices which selectively de-energize the faulty part of the network.
It's important to properly design and build the protection system to eliminate the risk of accidents and limit damage to equipment, while maintaining continuity of service in the healthy parts of the installation.
