1. Preamble
The structure of medium-voltage distribution networks differs from one distributor to another, but is most often radial, as shown in the schematic diagram in figure 1 , which runs from left to right, from the (T)HT/MT transformer at the primary substation to the MV installations of the users; this figure also introduces the vocabulary used in the rest of the article.
