1. Role of CSCP control circuits
The essential functions of the close control circuit of a power semiconductor component are :
conversion of control logic information (0-1) (i.e. without energy) into suitable electrical quantities (current, voltage) at the CSCP control electrodes, to obtain on and off states and optimized transitions;
maximum exploitation of the physical possibilities of the CSCP, given the switching context. This means using semiconductors whose voltage and current ratings are the best suited to the need, and enabling the best compromise between losses and disturbances generated;
its protection in the event of a fault (overcurrent, overvoltage) that could endanger it and inform the remote control system of the decision taken by the close control;
