4. Resistor adjustment
Resistors are adjusted by reducing the cross-sectional area of the current flow, either by cutting a groove in the resistor (for thick and thin layers), or by reducing the thickness by oxidizing the surface (for thin layers). It is therefore only possible to increase the resistance value until the desired tolerance is reached.
When grooving, the depth of the notch should not exceed 75% of the width of the resistor, in order to maintain a minimum cross-sectional area for current flow.
