Overview

ABSTRACT

Thin layers, nanostructures and magnetic heterostructures present different behaviors and new functionalities in comparison to heavy-mass materials: heightened thermal effects and anisotropy, emergence of specific domains and walls, giant magneto transport effects, etc. These effects and their implementation in the field of simple nanostructures are presented with examples of technological integration in the domains of electronics and medicine: hard disks, field sensors, tracers, etc.

 INTRODUCTION

Magnetic thin films, nanostructures and heterostructures exhibit different behaviors and new functionalities compared with solid materials: exalted thermal effects and anisotropy, the appearance of specific domains and walls, giant magnetotransport effects, etc. These effects and their implementation are described in dossiers [E These effects and their implementation are described in [E 2 150] and , followed by examples of their technological integration in the fields of electronics and medicine: hard disks, field sensors, tracers, etc.
