4. Different types of tests performed in EMC
The purpose of EMC testing is to test the device by simulating the conditions of the environment in which it is intended to operate.

To do this, there are two types of tests:
emissions testing (measurement of noise emitted);
immunity (or susceptibility) tests.
Emission tests are tests designed to validate that the electrical or magnetic disturbances emitted by the device (in conduction and radiation) do not exceed a certain "critical limit" specified by a standard or specific system requirement.
Immunity tests are tests that validate the "resistance" of the device to electromagnetic stresses (conducted and/or radiated). The equipment, subsystem, or system under test must be able to continue to operate...
