1. RFID tag manufacturing. Definitions
As the subject of RFID can be understood by very different reader profiles, it seems appropriate to start with a glossary which will have the advantage of laying the foundations or prerequisites for this article.
An RFID tag is in fact a conventional (i.e. human-readable) label to which "RFID" functionality has been added. Most often, an RFID "inlay" is associated with a "classic" tag.
The inlay (or object core) is made up of an insulating support (paper, PET, PVC, other), an antenna (aluminum, copper, silver conductor, etc.), and a chip or integrated circuit (IC) compliant with a communication standard.
