Now that the architecture of the cooperative target has been defined, and its spectral and temporal characteristics determined, the next question is how to probe the response of this transducer via a radio-frequency link (figure  4 ). Short-range RADAR meets the requirement of characterizing the response of the cooperative target via a wireless link, without the need for an energy source in the vicinity of the sensing element.
