4. Conclusion

Even if it retains traditional flow management, the 5G core network is a concrete implementation of key trends that have been the focus of intense research over the past decade: the spread of software technologies in networks, virtualization, flexibility, elasticity and programmability.

Thanks to the notion of a service-oriented interface based on stateless dialogs and standardized APIs, the 5G network is adaptable and highly configurable to provide a wide range of services with widely varying QoS requirements.
