1.1 Network Slices
The deployment of 5G mobile infrastructures has revived the concept of the "Network Slice". A network slice is a form of virtual network deployed on a fixed or mobile infrastructure. The characteristics of a network slice are essentially expressed in terms of capacity (bandwidth), quality of service (e.g. latency, unidirectional transit time), security (e.g. preservation of confidentiality of information transmitted within the slice), traffic isolation or availability.
