Distribution shaft
Tree structure established within a multicast network to route traffic characteristic of the content(s) emitted by one or more sources connected to the multicast network. This traffic is destined for receivers who have indicated their interest in receiving it.
Such a tree structure evolves over time, as does the number of receivers who join or leave it. A distribution tree is therefore calculated, established and maintained at the initiative of the receivers, i.e. in view of their explicit interest in accessing the content distributed along this tree.
Multicast transmission mode
Group communication scheme of the "1-to-n" type (a content source transmits to "n" receivers) or of the "p-to-z" type ("p" content sources transmit to "z" receivers. In the case of a videoconferencing...
