Today, 3D virtual environments are used in many fields, covering a wide range of uses from entertainment and learning to computer-aided design for industry. Although their number continues to grow every year, a recurring problem hinders their adoption and distribution. Today, it is very difficult to import data into a virtual environment other than the one for which it was created.
