 INTRODUCTION

Amateur radio operators can engage in a wide range of activities related to their passion. From local contact with friends, to liaising with a group on an expedition to Clipperton Island or listening to Morse signals reflected on the moon, to transmitting color images relayed by satellite.

Digital techniques are also playing an increasingly important role in day-to-day experimentation and data transmission, notably through the use of Internet technologies on the airwaves, for example, to make immediate use of traffic information transmitted in real time.
