1. Using augmented reality

Reducing AR to a set of technical characteristics leads us to underestimate its vast potential in terms of functionality.

• Two major classifications

  We therefore propose to break down AR functionalities into two main categories (figure 1 ):

  • applications that enable perception or, more rarely, augmented action in our real environment;

  • applications characterized by the creation of an augmented environment.

  Indeed, "reality augmentation" can serve two purposes for the user:
