7.1.1 Digital terrestrial television broadcasting DTT

Several European countries are in the process of upgrading their TV broadcasts to progressive HD at 50 frames per second. The arrival of HEVC/H.265 makes it possible to broadcast this 50p HD at a bitrate equal to, or even lower than, that currently used for interlaced HD at 25 fps. The move to progressive is also a quality argument to justify the purchase of new set-top boxes or television receivers.
