2. Statistical modeling of the problem

The methodology presented in the first part [ , § 2] is applicable as soon as the probability density of the observation can be described. This presupposes the ability to represent the signal by a finite set of numbers (sampling), and then to establish a relationship between the physical parameters and the statistical parameters.
