2. Previewing and displaying the video stream from the sensor
We'll be relying on Android CameraX technology. CameraX is an Android™ add-on that makes it easy to add camera functionality to your application. CameraX is supported on almost all Android™ devices running Android 5.0 (API level 21) and above, ensuring that the same code works on most devices on the market. CameraX is used to interface with the camera via an abstraction called a "use case". A "use case" allows you to concentrate on the task in hand, rather than spending time managing device-specific subtleties.
The "use cases" currently available are :
preview: to obtain an image on the screen ;
image capture: captures and saves high-quality images ;
image analysis: supplies images to the processor for analysis, using, for example, artificial intelligence...
