7. Specialized operators: tensors and tensor cores
Tensors are mathematical objects defined on an n-dimensional space:
a vector is a tensor of dimension 1 ;
a matrix is a tensor of dimension 2 ;
etc.
Given the importance of calculations on very large matrices, specialized operators called tensors or tensor cores have been introduced in a number of architectures.
