10. Conclusion

Like many other information technologies, especially those that owe their success to the development of the Internet, the Web must evolve at a pace unmatched by other technologies. The Web is the major application of the Internet, and as such benefits from the fundamental principles on which it was built:

• interoperability, which guarantees that the hardware and software elements enabling its use are compatible with each other. This implies standardization of languages and protocols;

• the ability to adapt to the development of information technologies. The design must respect the principles of simplicity, modularity and extensibility, to be able to integrate future innovations in the shortest possible time;
