8. Examples of instruction sets

The detailed presentation of an instruction set is usually the subject of technical documents several hundred pages long. Our examples will therefore be limited to presenting, for two representative instruction sets, how the various features detailed in this text combine in the different instruction formats. For these two instruction sets, we will briefly present the evolution from 32-bit to 64-bit. In the appendix, we provide some information on instruction coding issues.
