The variety of needs and workaround strategies makes it difficult to fully customize the user experience. It also makes it difficult to integrate all the elements of the equation into practices.

To make it easier to take into account and measure the success of accessibility improvements, standards and best practice guides have been developed. These are also known as accessibility standards.

An accessibility reference framework is the synthesis of users' functional needs, resulting from academic work and their study in real-life situations.
