7. Extrapolating the pilot to industrial scale

7.1 Principle of extrapolation

The aim of extrapolation is to reproduce on an industrial scale the results obtained on a pilot or laboratory scale. Using results obtained on a scale of 1/10 of a m 3 , it is possible to dimension a mixing system on a scale of several m 3 , or even a hundred m 3 .
