4. Industrial production

Industrial processes vary according to the products required, due to the different behavior of reagents in a given environment.

The preparation processes are described in turn:

— ethylbenzene in the presence of AlCl ₃ or zeolites (either gas-phase or liquid-phase process);

—of cumene in the presence of phosphoric acid deposited on alumina;

—alkylates for detergents.
