5.1 Risks

Always refer to the conditions and precautions for use of the raw materials used and the finished products or intermediates present (cf. INRS toxicological data sheets).

Particularly important are the risks associated with the use of hydrochloric and especially hydrofluoric acids.

  • The main risks encountered arise from toxicity:

    • benzene and ethylene;

    • Hydrochloric acid may be released at certain points in processes using AlCl 3 ;

    • hydrofluoric acid.
