2. Synthesis of high-added-value functionalized compounds (Fine Chemicals)

Fine Chemicals products are organic compounds with high added value, prepared in moderate tonnages (10 2 to 10 4 tonnes per year) and generally featuring different functional groups. For their synthesis, substituting the stoichiometric or homogeneously catalyzed transformations that are frequently used with systems relying on heterogeneous catalysis would be particularly beneficial. Separation of the solid catalyst from the reaction mixture is immediate, and its recovery (for reuse or that of its components) is straightforward, costing much less time and money than the laborious separation of soluble organometallic complexes used in homogeneous catalysis.
