6. Regulation and control of hot-air drying

Objectives

The main aim of dryer control is to ensure a constant water content X _P2 = Cte in the final product, in response to fluctuations in certain time-varying drying parameters, such as: the water content of the product X _P1 on entry (particularly for products of biological origin, with a "natural" variability of water content, or of DM concentration), the flow rate of the product ${\stackrel{\cdot }{m}}_{\text{P1}}$ more or less disturbed by the upstream process, the characteristic dimension L of the product and/or its composition (purity..), the temperature and humidity of the air A...
