5. Conclusion

This article describes a non-exhaustive range of methods for the ultra-high vacuum extraction of noble gases trapped in rocks and minerals. These techniques, connected to specific gas purification systems and static mass spectrometer analyzers, are used in research laboratories to access geochemical information important for understanding geological processes.

All the extraction techniques mentioned, although developed to meet analytical requirements specific to laboratories (nature of samples and gases analyzed, concentrations, extraction temperature and yield, etc.), can be modified in terms of enclosure geometry, materials used, extraction capacities, etc., to match the requirements of new applications.
