1. Foam problems encountered in industry

These problems are encountered in a wide range of industries.

These include the food industry, textiles and dyeing, inks and coatings, wastewater treatment, lubricants and even semiconductors.

But it's certainly the paper industry that is the biggest user of foam control products. Foam problems are omnipresent, at every stage of the manufacturing process, from pulp and sheet, wastewater treatment and recycling, to de-inking waste paper, coating and printing.

And it's not just the handling of aqueous solutions that poses problems.

Oil exploration and the petrochemical industry are also confronted with foaming phenomena. In its natural state, crude oil contains gases dissolved under pressure. During extraction, these dissolved gases escape at atmospheric pressure, posing difficult foaming problems...
