4. Conclusion

Dishwasher detergents are constantly evolving. Today, tablets are enjoying real success, thanks to their practicality and their ability to perform several functions: washing, rinsing, salting and deodorizing. Classic powders, on the other hand, are still preferred by some households, who consider them more economical. The trend is towards "multi-functionality", with "all-in-one" products. Innovations in this field take place at two levels: "chemical" innovations such as the introduction of bleaching agents, the use of enzymes, the incorporation of bleach catalysts and, more recently, special polycarboxylates; and technical innovations, more "visible" to the user, such as the switch from powder to tablet form, or technologies to minimize energy and water consumption.
